Oliver Hardt presently is appointed Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology at McGill University. Before joining McGill in 2016, he was lecturer and Chancellor’s fellow at The University of Edinburgh, where he set up his first lab at the Centre for Cognitive and Neural Systems. A member of both the Patrick Wild Centre and the Simons Initiative for the Developing Brain at The University of Edinburgh, Dr Hardt collaborates in various projects investigating neurobiological underpinnings of autism spectrum disorders and neurodevelopmental diseases. His lab at McGill tries to understand how and why the brain forgets. In his work, Dr Hardt emphasizes the use of ecologically valid behavioural tasks in fundamental and clinical animal research.
